Readers are also encouraged to call upon their science teachers and utilize school equipment, such as Bunsen burners, graduated cylinders, rubber tubing, manganese dioxide, potassium iodide, and various sizes of flasks. Students are encouraged to expand on the ideas in order to create unique projects of their own. A brief explanation of the scientific method and a discussion of safety are included. The information is dry but includes bits of intriguing historical documentation. The text is clear and concise and includes many questions to be considered for further research.
