About the Author<br />
William M. Vatavuk, P.E., Durham, NC, is currently President of Vatavuk Engineering. Before starting his own firm, Bill spent thirty years with the EPA Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards collecting, preparing and analyzing cost data and cost-estimating methodologies for the private and public sectors. He is a frequent speaker and columnist for both Chemical Engineering Magazine and Environmental Protection Magazine. He is also the creator of the Vatavuk Cost Index, an equipment cost index that is found in Chemical Engineering Magazine.
