Organic Chemistry Resources Worldwide, a web site designed for the specific needs of organic chemists, was created (February, 1996). "Organic Chemistry Resources Worldwide" is maintained by Dr. Koen Van Aken (16 years experience in academic and industrial organic synthesis).
This spare time project (a volunteer work after work hours) started in February 1996 at the Laboratory of Organic Synthesis Hoornaert, Belgium. In August 1996, the website moved to Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA where it was regularly updated untill October 1997, when the author left the university for an industrial position. The site was not updated for about three years. However, after a thorough review, "Organic Chemistry Resources Worldwide" was placed in May 2001 on a new server at a new address (
http://www.organicworldwide.net). And the maintenance seems continue.
Organic Chemistry Resources Worldwide is focused on synthetic organic chemists involved in academic or industrial research.
