Since its inception, EEA has played a significant role in the carbon market,
initially launching Climate Exchange PLC and, since 2005, launching and
managing Trading Emissions PLC (TEP). The Company has built a team of highly
experienced carbon professionals that ensures assets are managed to secure and
maximise carbon value. Critical to EEA’s success has been its Beijing office,
which supports CDM projects within TEP’s portfolio preparing the necessary
documentation and securing registration.
We are now looking to recruit a new staff member for the Beijing office.
Job Description:
The CDM Project Manager will work in EEA’s carbon team in Beijing to support
project developers in the implementation of CDM projects. This role involves
managing and supporting the entire CDM development process from PDD preparation
to project registration.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Reviewing and editing PDDs prepared by local consultants to ensure they
provide accurate and concise descriptions of the project and baseline;
• Managing and guiding CDM projects through the validation process,
including liaising with the validators;
• Supporting the CDM project registration process;
• Assisting project developers/owners to comply with monitoring
requirements;
• Supporting the carbon team with data gathering and reporting activities.
Candidate profile:
• The successful candidate must have a strong technical and analytical
background, and be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
• Diligent, with attention to detail and the ability to thrive in an
entrepreneurial, fast moving environment, handling multiple assignments
effectively;
• Able to work independently assuming overall project responsibility;
• Experience in CDM project development including drafting PDDs;
• Experience as a greenhouse gas auditor or as a technical writer is a
prerequisite.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Knowledge of the CDM methodologies, processes and policies, especially
in China;
• Professional experience in engineering, environmental audits, ISO 4001
and/or CDM consultancy and at least three years’ related experience;
• Excellent spoken and written English with proficiency in Mandarin a
distinct advantage;
• Superior PC skills.
